Advance Cardiac Life Support
Description:
The ACLS Course is designed
to teach providers the knowledge and skills needed to evaluate and manage the
first 10 minutes of an adult VF/VT arrest. Students are expected to learn to
manage 10 core ACLS cases: respiratory emergency, 4 types of cardiac arrest
(simple VF/VT, complex VF/VT, PEA, and asystole), 4 types of prearrest
emergencies (bradycardia, stable tachycardia, unstable tachycardia, and acute
coronary syndromes), and stroke.
Audience:
Emergency, intensive care,
or critical care personnel; emergency medical providers such as physicians,
nurses, EMTs, paramedics, respiratory therapists, and other professionals who
may need to respond to a cardiovascular emergency.
Prerequisites:
BLS/HCP certification
Completion of pretest
Either the ACLS Provider Manual or ACLS: The Reference Textbook
Strongly recommended: ECC Handbook

ACLS Skills Testing For “Heart Code ACLS Anywhere”
Description/Audience:
HeartCode ACLS provides an alternative training solution for the busy
professional. This self-directed program allows participants to learn and
complete the program at their own pace. Once the didactic portion is completed,
the skills validation portion must be completed at an authorized American Heart
Association Training Center.
Prerequisites:
Completion of the e-learning program.
Download and print your “notice of completion” from the American Heart
Association after you complete your e-leaning. Bring it to your skills testing
appointment.
NOTE: Skills testing
for non-American Heart Association web based programs is NOT provided by the AHA
Training Center at QMC.

ACLS Core Instructor Course / Instructor Course
Description:
The program leading to AHA certification as an ACLS Instructor is a three
part program.
“Part One” can be completed using one of the following delivery options:
• Self-directed online course through the AHA Professional Education Center
• Self-directed CD based course
• Instructor-led classroom course
“Part Two” is a classroom based ACLS specific instructor course.
Participants need to be monitored while teaching to complete the third and final
requirement of the course.
Audience:
Emergency, intensive care,
or critical care personnel; emergency medical providers such as physicians,
nurses, EMTs, paramedics, respiratory therapists, and other professionals who
may desire to teach the ACLS Course.

Current BLS/HCP certification
Current ACLS certification
