1. Describe briefly the significance of falls among seniors in Hawaii.
2. Cite evidence-based interventions identified as effective in preventing falls.
3. Identify at least three (3) traumatic injuries related to falls and the anticipated outcomes associated with such injuries.
4. Discuss briefly factors to consider in selecting a fall reduction program for a specific population.
5. Identify four (4) major risk factors related to falls in the elderly.
6. Discuss briefly the management of agitation in the patient with dementia.
7. Describe effective assessment of gait and balance.
8. Discuss briefly two (2) screening and assessment tools used to predict risk for elders.
9. Discuss briefly the benefits of medical comanagement of traumatic fractures in the elderly.
10. Identify three (3) appropriate medications used to manage delirium in the elderly.
11. Identify three (3) major risk factors for osteoporosis.
12. State three (3) changes in pharmacokinetics in the elderly.
