Critical Care is comprised of specialty units, the Emergency
Department and Trauma Services. Private rooms and individual patient care
cabinets in the intensive care units provide access to necessary supplies to
optimize nursing care. Units include:

Number of Beds: 10
Primary Focus: ICU (OHS - Open Heart Surgery)
Description: CABG & Heart Valve Surgery, Overflow General
Surgery ICU, AICD, PACU/Extended PACU, CVVH.
Queen Emma Tower 4A
Number of Beds: 8
Primary Focus: CICU (Cardiac)
Description: MI/R.O. MI, Cardiogenic Shock, Chest Pain
with EKG Changes, Life Threatening Arrythmias (SVT, VT, Heart Block, etc.)
Cardiac Invasive Thrombolytics (T-PA, SK, UK), PTCA with IABP, PTCA with CPS,
Complicated Arthrectomy/PTCA, Acute Cardiac Diseases; Cardiomyopathy, Valvular
Heart Disease, CHF, Pulmonary Edema, OB with Cardiac Complications, CVVH.
