The Queen's Medical Center is home to Hawaii's only private post doctoral dental residency, a hospital-based one year general practice residency program accredited by the American Dental Association. The residents serve the needs of the community including but not limited to medically compromised patients and provide year round 24 hour dental emergency services through the Emergency Department.
The QMC Dental Clinic is located in The Queen's Medical Center on the ground floor in the Iolani Building. It is staffed by dental residents supervised by a full time Director of Dental Education, with assistance from a volunteer staff of dedicated private dentists from the community.
The residency program provides the following services:
Examination and dental treatment for all patients
Examination and treatment for pre-radiation / oncology patients
Same Day Surgery patients with special needs who are unable to tolerate the normal dental setting
Dental services for the Hawaii Prisons systems, Salvation Army, Life Foundation,
We also support the University of Hawaii Dental Hygiene School
Emergency treatment by a dentist for injuries and/or infections involving the teeth, jaws, and/or mouth is available after being evaluated by the Emergency Department physician and determined necessary
Queen's Dental Clinic accepts most major dental insurance plans.
