Queen's Emergency Department |
|
The Queen's Medical Center, the major trauma center for Hawaii, opened its newly renovated Emergency Department on November 17, 1999. The new facility has 31 treatment rooms housed in a 25,000 square foot area, and features four distinct services areas: Trauma, Psychiatry, Emergency and Convenience Care.
Queen's Emergency Department now has two entrances: one for patients that arrive via ambulance, and another for walk-in patients. This reduces congestion and ensures quick access to the full services of the Medical Center.
Entry to Queen's Emergency Department is a simple turn at the Punchbowl-Miller Street intersection. Vehicles traveling Makai (toward the ocean) on Punchbowl Street are not permitted to turn left onto Miller Street. Please observe traffic signs. Only emergency vehicles and vehicles carrying emergency patients may turn at the intersection. Non-patient drop-offs and parking will not be permitted in the Ambulance Bay.
