The Queen's Medical Center-Punchbowl Opens Newly Redesigned Gift Shop

HONOLULU – Following a 4 month long redesign project, The Queen’s Medical Center-Punchbowl reopened its gift shop on Tuesday, March 30 with a renewed focus on supporting local businesses and enhancing the customer experience.

A blessing was held on Monday for the shop named  Makana, which translates to “Many Gifts”.

The shop features a wide variety of items such as ceramic ware, decorative pillows, scented products, lei, fresh floral arrangements, Queen’s logo wear, plants, and many other unique gift ideas.  Many of the items are sourced from local businesses and made in Hawaii.

“We are delighted to reopen our gift shop to our patients, their loved ones, and our employees who can enjoy selecting a special gift,” said Wanda Sharp, The Queen’s Health Systems Director of Patient Relations and Patient Experience.  “When you visit our gift shop, we want it to be a positive experience where you feel welcome with the spirit of aloha,” added Sharp.

Proceeds from the gift shop are returned back to the hospital to support Queen Emma and King Kamehameha IV’s mission of providing quality health care services to improve the well-being of Native Hawaiians and all of the people of Hawaii.  Previously, it was operated by an outside vendor.

The gift shop is located in the front lobby of the main hospital and can be reached at 808-691-4239 or via email at  It is open Monday-Friday from 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
