QHS Names David Strange, Director of System Facilities & Biomedical Engineering; Robin Kalohelani, Administrator for The Queen’s Medical Center – West O’ahu Support, Clinic Services & Care Transition; & Dr. Tina Tom, General Practice Residency Program Director for The Queen’s Dental Clinic Date

HONOLULU - The Queen’s Health Systems (QHS) has named a new director, new administrator, and new program director.

David Strange has been named Director of System Facilities and Biomedical Engineering.  

David will be responsible for facilities planning and development, facilities maintenance services, and biomedical engineering services for the system. He will oversee the QHS Master Plan, assuring execution on strategic goals and the efficient operation of all hospital, business units, clinics and partnership facilities.

David was most recently the Director of Facilities Management at Sacred Heart Health System in Florida. Prior to that, he was the Director of Plant Operations at Memorial Regional Hospital in Florida for 23 years.

Robin Kalohelani has been promoted to Administrator for The Queen’s Medical Center – West O’ahu Support, Clinic Services and Care Transition.

Robin began her career at The Queen’s Medical Center – Punchbowl campus in 2006 as a community health nurse case manager and emergency room and acute care case manager. In 2013, she became the project leader for The Queen’s Medical Center – West O’ahu as it was undergoing a $100 million renovation project. In 2018, Robin was named the Director of Care Transition and Clinic Services.  She then stepped into the interim role of Administrator for Support, Clinic Services and Care Transition and has taken on that role permanently.

Tina Tom, DDS has been named General Practice Residency Program Director of The Queen’s Dental Clinic.  In her new role, Dr. Tom is responsible for the planning, implementation, coordination, and clinical oversight of the Medical Center’s General Practice Dental Residency Program.  She will ensure program compliance with the American Dental Association Commission on Dental Accreditation standards and reporting requirements.  Additionally, she will continue the Dental Clinic’s collaborative relationships with our internal programs and services.

Dr. Tom earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of California, San Francisco, and her Executive Masters of Business Administration from the University of Hawaii.
