QHS Names Darlene Hrabowski-Grier, Director of Infection Prevention & Control, QHS; Tuan Pham, DDS, Dental Director, QMC; Toni Kalauli, Administrator, Director of Nursing, QNHCH

HONOLULU - The Queen’s Health Systems (QHS) announces the appointments of three new directors.

Darlene Hrabowski-Grier has been named Director of System Infection Prevention and Control at QHS.

Hrabowski-Grier oversees strategic planning, management of resources and process improvement priorities related to infection prevention practices. She is responsible for engaging and working collaboratively with key administrative leaders, patient care services leaders and staff across the organization to develop and implement infection prevention and control services.

Hrabowski-Grier previously served as System Infection Prevention and Control Manager at Hawaiʻi Pacific Health. She also worked in infection prevention for hospitals in Georgia and with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). She has her certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC) as well as her Registered Nurse license.

Tuan Pham, DDS, is the Dental Director at The Queen’s Medical Center (QMC).

Dr. Pham is responsible for planning, implementation, coordination and management of the Dental Clinic at QMC. He has experience in various health care settings, including community health clinics on Hawaiʻi Island where he provided dental care for the underserved population as a National Health Corps provider. He also served as a clinical attending for the NYU Langone Advanced Education General Dentistry Residency Program.

Dr. Pham earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Howard University College of Dentistry in Washington, D.C. and continued his education at Lutheran Medical Center in New York City as a general practice resident. He extended his residency at Lutheran Medical Center to serve as chief resident and to receive additional training in advanced restorative cases and oral surgery. He has also completed advanced training in pediatric dentistry.

Toni Kalauli is the Administrator, Director of Nursing for Queen’s North Hawaiʻi Community Hospital (QNHCH).

Kalauli is responsible for managing nursing operations, collaborating with management and medical staff to develop strategic health care goals, maintaining fiscal integrity, and upholding the provision of care and services to support the vision and mission of QNHCH and QHS.

Kalauli joined QNHCH in 2003 as a Registered Nurse. After graduating from nursing school, she worked in various departments such as Ambulatory, Central Supply, and Kohala Home Health. She then expanded her nursing skills in Oncology and Medical/Surgical Telemetry, where she worked her way up to Nurse Manager in 2015.
