QNHCH APRN of the Year


Queen’s North Hawai’i Community Hospital Certified Nurse Midwife Jackie Meister was recently selected Advanced Practitioner Registered Nurse (APRN) of the Year for Molokai/Queen’s North Hawai’i Community Hospital by The Queen’s Health Systems.  The Queen’s Health Systems APRN Committee accepts nominations every year for APRNs who embody the Queen’s values of C.A.R.E. -  Compassion, Aloha, Respect, and Excellence.  APRNs include nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, certified registered nurse anesthetists, and certified nurse midwives.

Jackie Meister is a certified nurse midwife in the Women’s Center at Queen’s North Hawai’i Community Hospital.  Jackie holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing and a master’s degree in midwifery, and has been with Queen’s North Hawai’i Community Hospital for four years.

Jackie Meister was selected for her demonstration of genuine concern and compassion for her patients, combined with excellent care and an ability to instill a high level of trust.  Her nomination was made by a patient who stated,  “The genuine concern and compassionate manner she spoke to me with made me feel like I was speaking to a friend, not just a care provider. That instilled a level of trust and ease that is so critical for patients to feel…..”
