QHS Names Sondra Leiggi Brandon & Kapunahele Montgomery VPs of Patient Care

HONOLULU - The Queen’s Health Systems has named both Sondra Leiggi Brandon and Kapunahele J. Montgomery Vice Presidents of Patient Care.

Sondra Leiggi Brandon has been named VP of Patient Care, Behavioral Health. She will be responsible for developing and implementing business and strategic plans for behavioral health services and programs across the continuum of care.

Leiggi Brandon previously served as Systems Director of Behavioral Health. Prior to that, she worked at The Queen’s Medical Center – West Oʻahu as a Psychiatric APRN and Nurse Manager of Telemetry. Leiggi Brandon is an Omidyar fellow and was recently recognized as one of Hawaiʻi Business Magazine’s “20 for the Next 20.”

Leiggi Brandon is working on a DNP/MBA from Johns Hopkins University, where she earned a Post Master’s Certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health. She also has a Master’s in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Hawaiʻi at Manoa, and a Master’s in Public Health and Global Health from Loma Linda University.

Kapunahele J. Montgomery has been named VP of Patient Care, Cardiac Services. He will be directly responsible for developing and implementing business and strategic plans for both inpatient and outpatient cardiac services and programs.

Montgomery previously served as Director of Cardiovascular Services. He has been a nurse for 25 years.

Montgomery has a Master’s of Business Administration degree in Healthcare Administration from Loma Linda University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Hawaiʻi at Manoa.
