What to Expect

Medically-Supervised Weight Loss Evaluation

You will be thoroughly assessed by our bariatrician, a physician who specializes in the field of weight management.

Your evaluation may include:

  • A physical examination
  • A detailed review of your health history
  • Blood work and other studies, if necessary
  • A Body Composition Analysis
  • A Resting Energy Expenditure Test

Through the detailed information we gather, we are able to more accurately assess your metabolism and set realistic weight loss expectations, which are based upon your age, weight, height, sex, activity levels, sleep patterns and resting metabolic rate. Using this data, we are able to determine a prescription for calorie restrictions, activity needs and targeted weight loss per week. Depending on which program you choose, follow-up appointments are usually scheduled either every two weeks or every one to two months.

We will also talk through your weight loss goals and what brought you to us, as motivation is key to success. Our bariatrician reviews individual health problems and unique concerns, discussing all program options with you. Together, we will decide which program approach is best suited to your individual needs. There is no one right approach. Each treatment plan is designed to meet your personal goals and objectives.
