Brain Aneurysms and Advances in Treatment

Queen's Speaking of Health lecture (FREE) - Wed., June 26, 2019
6:00 - 7:00 pm  |  Queen's Conference Center - Punchbowl

Did you know that brain aneurysms can occur at any age? According to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, a brain aneurysm is a weak or thin spot on an artery in the brain that balloons or bulges out and fills with blood. It can also burst, and approximately 30,000 Americans per year suffer a brain aneurysm rupture.

One in three patients with ruptured brain aneurysms do not survive the first incident of rupture/bleed, with half of remaining survivors experiencing brain injury, which can significantly impact a person’s quality of life.
