Youth Intensive Outpatient Program

The Youth Intensive Outpatient Program at The Queen's Medical Center provides a three-evening per week treatment schedule to assist adolescents with managing behavioral and mood problems while maintaining productivity in school and in the community. At this level of care, patients are able to process behavioral and emotional obstacles they face, while directly applying behavioral change and modification in their school, home and community lives. Day Treatment Services provides an evening snack and necessary treatment supplies for participating patients.

The program provides a range of treatment and support services for children and adolescents, ages 12-18, including:

  • Academic and educational support and coordination with school
  • Anger management
  • Cognitive behavioral therapy
  • Dialectical behavioral therapy
  • Illness education
  • Individual, family, and group therapy
  • Psychiatric treatment
  • Substance abuse education

Transportation to and from treatment should be provided by the minor’s caregiver.
