Survivorship
Nationally Recognized Cancer Survivorship Program
The Queen’s Cancer Center is home to the first adult, hospital-based survivorship program in Hawaii. We believe that our patients’ journeys continue after treatment ends. Our caring and knowledgeable staff will help navigate their transition from treatment to follow-up care with the goal to improve quality of life.
Our nationally recognized program focuses on two aspects of care:
Management
- Offers services that address the unique needs of cancer survivors in the years following treatment
- Provides a follow-up care plan and treatment summary
- Offers education about managing side effects and promoting healthy activities, such as nutrition, exercise and smoking cessation
- Assesses and assists with meeting psychological, emotional, social and economic concerns
Surveillance
- Monitors any late effects of cancer and its treatment
- Works closely with patients and their doctors to provide the best care following treatment
