Services We Provide

The Queen’s Medical Center Emergency Department and Trauma Center provides the following services, 24/7:

  • Emergency Services: treatment for a wide range of minor to life-threatening emergencies
  • Trauma Services: care for adults and children who are critically ill or require specialty services not otherwise available across the islands
    • Designated as a Level I Trauma Center (verified by the American College of Surgeons and the Hawaii Department of Health)
    • Injury Prevention and Outreach
  • Behavioral Health Psychiatry
  • Comprehensive Stroke Center services
  • STEMI-accepting facility

When to seek Emergency Care

  • Burns
  • Chest pain or intense stomach pain
  • Drug or chemical poisoning
  • Bleeding that won’t stop
  • Exposure injuries threatening to life and limb
  • Extreme cuts and lacerations
  • Fractures, broken bones or other trauma
  • Loss of unconsciousness
  • Suspected stroke
  • Severe shortness of breath
  • Other conditions that are life-threatening
