The Pre-Surgery Center works with patients who are scheduled for a surgical procedure at The Queen’s Medical Center to identify high-risk patients and optimization opportunities prior to elective surgery. Based on your need, you may be scheduled for a:

  • Teaching appointment with a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Teaching appointment with an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)
  • Teaching appointment with an APRN and be assigned a Navigator who will serve as a liaison within your care team and will ensure you have the knowledge to prevent readmission to the hospital

We ensure all paperwork necessary for surgery is available in your chart for your surgeon and Primary Care Physician (PCP) to access for follow-up care. The Pre-Surgery Center also provides consultative services in collaboration with:

  • Cardiology
  • Case Management
  • Dental Care
  • Endocrinology
  • Geriatrics
  • Pain and Palliative Care
  • Pulmonology
  • Social Work
