The Queen’s Medical Center - West Oahu offers secure online payment of your hospital bill. Payments are normally posted to your hospital account within two (2) business days. To make a payment, you will need the hospital account number on your hospital billing statement and the patient’s date of both.

The Queen’s Medical Center accepts most insurance types. Your doctor will decide which procedures, tests and other consultations you may need. However, many health plans require pre-certification and sometimes predetermination of medical necessity prior to care being rendered. In addition, some services may not be a covered benefit for some plans. Please contact your insurance company to verify eligibility.

Financial Assistance

The Queen’s Medical Center-West Oahu is committed to providing medical services to patients and objectively considers each patient’s financial ability to pay for the cost of hospital services.

The Financial Assistance Policy, also known as Charity Care, offers emergency and other medically necessary services at low or no cost to the patient. A discounted rate is applied to eligible patients who do not have or cannot obtain adequate financial resources to pay for their medical care. Our staff will assist individuals, free of charge, in applying for eligible governmental health insurance programs, such as Medicare and Medicaid/Quest. Upon approval of the financial assistance application, individuals will receive a 100% or a 65% discount. Applicants may be screened for Medicaid eligibility and requested to cooperate with applying for Medicaid-Quest.

Eligibility Requirements

Financial assistance is generally determined by a sliding scale of total household income based on Federal Poverty Guidelines for US citizens and US residents or based upon the country minimum wage annualized for non-US citizens and non-US residents.

Transparency in Pricing

In support of the Public Health Service Act, The Queen’s Health Systems makes its Hospital Standard Charges, or Chargemaster, available. The charge for services included on your bill is based on many factors that vary from hospital to hospital, including the costs of buying medications and medical supplies; maintaining hospital buildings; paying highly-trained health care workers; and purchasing up-to-date medical technology. Please note a patient’s out-of-pocket cost is not determined by the standard charges of a hospital. The out of pocket cost is driven primarily by the contracted rate the patient’s insurance carrier will pay the hospital, which is generally less than the standard charges; and any copay, deductible or coinsurance required by the patient’s benefit plan. 

This document should not be used to accurately estimate or determine the final patient cost of a given service or hospital stay. It is provided for information only. Charges referenced in this list of standard charges were valid on July 1, 2020. Charges may change from this date due to new technology, added or eliminated services, changes made by manufacturers or vendors, differentiating cost of supplies and drugs, etc.
