Respiratory Care

The Queen’s Medical Center - West Oahu provides the highest quality respiratory care to patients with breathing problems in an emergency and hospital setting. We treat patients who are experiencing difficulty breathing, or who are unable to breathe on their own, including those with asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), lung cancer and similar conditions, or following serious injury.

Our Team

Queen’s skilled therapists serve a diverse population of patients, and are supported by advanced diagnostic and therapeutic equipment. Respiratory therapists are an important part of the Emergency Department, Critical Care, and patient care units. Our respiratory therapists are licensed by the State of Hawaii and hold certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP. The Queen’s – West Oahu inpatient Respiratory Care Department consists of respiratory therapists and respiratory care assistants. The team collaborates with members of patients’ care teams, including physicians, surgeons, nurses, social workers, case managers and others to ensure that all patients’ respiratory needs are met safely.
