Bruce Nakaoka is Executive Vice President of Endowment and Chief Investment Officer for The Queen’s Health Systems. He also serves as President of Queen Emma Land Company, President of Queen’s Development Corporation, and Board Director for Diagnostic Laboratory Services. He joined the Queen’s ‘ohana in 2014.

After starting his career as a commercial real estate appraiser, Mr. Nakaoka joined Kamehameha Schools where he became Director of the Real Estate Investment and Appraisal Division, overseeing a portfolio of diversified assets across the U.S. He later co-founded and was managing director of MN Capital Partners, an investment, asset management and consulting firm that later merged with Tradewind Capital Group.

Mr. Nakaoka serves on numerous non-profit boards including the Waikīkī Improvement Association, Waikīkī Business Improvement District, Oahu Economic Development Board Punawai O Puuhonua NMTC Investment Committee, and Land Use Research Foundation. He supports the Ke Ali‘i Pauahi Foundation as an administrator for the Trustee Matsuo Takabuki, Goldman Sachs, and Trustee William Richardson Commemorative Scholarship Funds. He also previously served on the boards of the Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii, Institute for Human Services, McKinley High School Foundation, Office of Hawaiian Affairs Investment Advisory Committee, and Kamehameha Schools Board of Advisors.

Mr. Nakaoka obtained his Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Business Administration in Management and Real Estate from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. He also earned the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute.

Born at The Queen’s Hospital, Mr. Nakaoka’s early childhood was spent on Old Vineyard Street where the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge is located today. His most important credential is his wife Vanina, son Nicolas, and daughter Noëlle.
