Hawaii has ranked last in the nation for early diagnosis of lung cancer for three consecutive years. But The Queen’s Health Systems is looking to change that with the launch of their Advanced Lung Institute; a multi-disciplinary team of experts committed to early diagnosis and providing high-quality lung cancer care to our community, where patients can be diagnosed, staged and treated in one setting.
With these new innovations including Hawaii’s first AI nodule detection program and ION Navigational platform, Queen’s has already been able to perform 650 biopsies and diagnose 325 lung cancer cases over the last two years that would have gone either undetected or treated at a later stage.
On this episode of Ask a Specialist, we’ll talk about what you need to know with Dr. Taryne Imai, Thoracic Surgery Program Director, at The Queen’s Health Systems.
