The Queen’s Health Systems today announced the appointment of Dawn Kurisu as its new Vice President and Chief Philanthropy Officer. She will assume this newly created position on October 14, 2025.
As a key member of the executive leadership team, Kurisu will oversee the strategy and implementation of the organization’s philanthropic initiatives, including securing transformational investments and grants, leveraging major and planned gifts, and strengthening community partnerships to ensure that Queen’s continues its leadership role in providing access to high-quality health care for the people of Hawai‘i for generations to come.
“We are extremely excited to welcome Dawn to our Queen’s ‘ohana in this critical position,” Jason Chang, President and CEO of The Queen’s Health Systems, said. “Over the course of her impressive career, she has demonstrated exceptional leadership and an ability to lead countless initiatives across the non-profit, education, and government sectors.”
An executive leader with 20 years of experience, Kurisu has a proven track record of optimizing operations, stewarding community engagement efforts, and fostering partnerships that drive transformational change.

Kurisu most recently served as Assistant Vice President of Community and Government Relations at HMSA. Prior to that, she held the position of Vice President of Strategy and Innovation at Parents and Children Together.
