Queen’s Thoracic Surgery Director Named 2025 Outstanding Mother Honoree

The Queen’s Health Systems is proud to announce that Taryne Imai, MD, MEHP, FACS, Program Director of Thoracic Surgery at The Queen’s Medical Center, has been named a 2025 Outstanding Mother Honoree by the American Lung Association in Hawaiʻi.

This prestigious recognition celebrates mothers who have made exceptional contributions to their communities while balancing the demands of family and professional life. Dr. Imai is a respected leader and trailblazer in thoracic surgery and lung cancer care, and is deeply committed to delivering exceptional care to all of her patients.

At Queen’s, she leads the Advanced Lung Institute and ION Bronchoscopy Program, revolutionizing early lung cancer detection utilizing minimally invasive technology. Her work is helping to save lives by dramatically reducing the time from diagnosis to treatment.

We extend our warmest congratulations to Dr. Imai on this well-deserved honor and thank her for the lasting impact she continues to make within Queen’s and the community.
