HONOLULU – The Queen’s Health System has named a new vice president/CIO and two new directors.
Harold Moscho has been named Vice President of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer.
His role is to provide leadership, direction and administrative and operational oversight of Queen’s Information Technology Services. This includes strategic planning, security, management and implementation and updating of technology.
Moscho has 30 years of experience in the health care industry. He served as Vice President of Information Technology and Chief Technology Officer at MultiCare Health System, which has more than 17,000 employees in the state of Washington. He also held a variety of managerial and technical roles and had been with MultiCare since 1987. Prior to that, he worked in the computer consulting services industry as a consultant and systems programmer.
Moscho holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from St. Cloud State University in Minnesota. He earned his Master of Business Administration degree from Western Governors University in Utah. He is a member of the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME), Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM).
Corey Au has been named Director of Supply Chain Management and Strategic Sourcing.
Au leads, directs and executes all supply chain programs and strategies, including strategic supply chain operations, information technology related to supply chain operations and spend management operations. He maintains Queen’s inventory system, ensuring that the inventory system is managed efficiently. He is also responsible for the procurement and logistics of supplies/equipment for The Queen’s Health System.
Au has extensive experience in the hospital and health care setting. He started his career as a management engineer with The Queen’s Health System, then as a project and systems coordinator and a warehouse and systems manager with The Queen’s Medical Center. He later worked as the Director of Logistics & Systems/Supply Chain Management at Hawaii Pacific Health before returning to Queen’s.
The Kamehameha Schools graduate earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in management from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Au is a Certified Materials & Resource Professional (CMRP) and is a member of the Association for Health Care Resource & Materials Management (AHRMM) of the American Hospital Association.
Tamara Pappas has been named Director of Ambulatory Services Planning.
She will help drive the planning and development of Queen’s ambulatory plan, which will expand outpatient services to meet the growing needs of the community. Her responsibilities include the coordination and implementation of multiple current and future projects in collaboration with operations to achieve the best patient outcomes. She will continue to lead the Queen’s Advanced Quality Training Program (AQTP) course.
Pappas previously served as Director of the Center for Outcomes Research & Evaluation (CORE) at Queen’s, and helped to develop and lead a data-driven clinical quality improvement program. Prior to Queen’s, she worked at Hawaii Pacific Health for 10 years, and later served as their Director of Quality Operations.
Pappas, who grew up in Seattle, has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and a Master of Business Administration degree from Loma Linda University in California. She is an ASQ Certified Six Sigma Black Belt.
