Queen Emma had a longstanding commitment and dedication to improving the health care of the people of Hawai‘i. She inspired two cousins who bequeathed land in North Hawai‘i, Makahikilua, to build a much-needed medical facility to carry on a legacy that will serve generations to come.

Today, philanthropy continues to be integral in enabling the best possible care for the people of Hawai‘i Island.
