The summer volunteer program is open to high school students 16 years and up, as well as college students. Students volunteer for four weeks during the summer (June 5-30 or July 3-28), three shifts per week, (5 – 7 hours per shift). All training is provided.  Available assignments include lobby screening, patient escorting, comfort rounding, as well as work in the hospital’s outpatient clinics, supply department, nutritional services, and even gardening!

“This is a great opportunity to learn more about the exciting field of health care while contributing to our local community,” said Julia Ramos, Fund Development and Volunteer Program Manager. “It has never been a more exciting time to volunteer in a hospital and this gives our young people a great introduction into this rewarding field.”  Interested students can apply online at www.queens.org/careers.
