The Queen’s Health System Names Dr. Todd Allen Senior Vice President and Chief Quality Officer

HONOLULU – Dr. Todd L. Allen has been named Senior Vice President and Chief Quality Officer for The Queen’s Health System (QHS).

Dr. Allen will oversee the Quality & Patient Safety, Quality Improvement, CORE, and Infection Control departments. He will be responsible for designing and promoting the advancement of superior quality and patient safety initiatives across the health system through continuous performance improvement, utilization of evidence based clinical protocols to drive outcomes, and optimizing the care experience of our patients.

Dr. Allen will also represent QHS in maturing community partnerships with the University of Hawaiʻi John A. Burns School of Medicine, the State of Hawaiʻi Department of Health, HMSA, and other Payers to elevate patient quality and safety to improve the well-being of Native Hawaiians and all the people of the State of Hawaiʻi.

As an emergency medicine physician, Dr. Allen began his career at Intermountain Healthcare in 1999 and has held many leadership roles in emergency medicine, trauma, research, and academia.

Dr. Allen attended the University of Utah where he earned his BS in Chemistry and Doctor of Medicine degrees. He then completed his internship and residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh.
