Pay Your Bill

For your convenience, The Queen’s Medical Center offers the option to securely pay your bill online. Payments are normally posted to your hospital account within two (2) business days.

To make a payment, you will need the hospital account number on your hospital billing statement and the patient’s date of birth.

Insurance

The Queen’s Medical Center accepts most insurances. Your doctor will decide which procedures, tests and other consultations you may need. However, many health plans require pre-certification and sometimes predetermination of medical necessity prior to care being rendered. In addition, some services may not be a covered benefit for some plans. Please contact your insurance company to verify eligibility.


Financial Assistance

The Queen’s Medical Center is committed to providing medical services to patients and objectively considers each patient’s financial ability to pay for the cost of hospital services.

The Financial Assistance Policy, also known as Charity Care, offers emergency and other medically necessary services at low or no cost to the patient. A discounted rate is applied to eligible patients who do not have or cannot obtain adequate financial resources to pay for their medical care. Our staff will assist individuals, free of charge, in applying for eligible governmental health insurance programs, such as Medicare and Medicaid/Quest. Upon approval of the financial assistance application, individuals will receive a 100% or a 65% discount. Applicants may be screened for Medicaid eligibility and requested to cooperate with applying for Medicaid-Quest.

Avoiding Surprises in Your Medical Bills: A Guide for Consumers

The Queen’s Health Systems and the American Hospital Association (AHA) believe patients and their families should be protected from the financial burdens of unexpected medical bills. Health insurance and health care billing are complex, and it can be difficult for patients to understand their coverage and obligations. Although insurers are in the best position to help patients understand what is considered in network or out of network, everyone providing health care services has a role to play in helping consumers navigate the complicated health care delivery system. The Healthcare Financial Management Association in partnership with the AHA created a guide to help patients understand the questions they can ask to help avoid paying more than expected for health care services.

Transparency in Pricing

In support of the Public Health Service Act and to improve communication with the communities we serve, The Queen’s Health Systems has made its Hospital Standard Charges available on the websites of our four hospitals – The Queen’s Medical Center – Punchbowl, The Queen’s Medical Center – West Oahu, North Hawaii Community Hospital and Molokai General Hospital.

At this time, only Queen's inpatient and outpatient hospital bills may be paid online using MasterCard, Visa, American Express or Discover. Physician billing is not included at this time. The Queen's Medical Center does not charge a fee for online payments.
