U.S. News & World Report Recognizes Queen’s Geriatrics as Top 10% in Country

Each year, U.S. News & World Reports ranks the top 50 hospitals, across 16 specialty services, out of over 4,500 hospitals across the country. For 2017-2018, The Queen’s Medical Center ranked within the top 50 hospitals, recognizing five specialties among other national hospitals, and ranked within the top 10% of hospitals for four specialty services. The Queen’s Medical Center is the only hospital in Hawaii to be nationally ranked in any specialty and amongst only 152 hospitals ranked in any specialty. We also received regional recognition as Best Hospital in Honolulu.  

The Queen’s Medical Center’s U.S. News ranking in the top 50 hospitals for specialties including:

  • Gynecology: #23
  • Urology: #25
  • Ear, Nose & Throat: #30
  • Diabetes and Endocrinology: #39
  • Nephrology: #43

The Queen’s Medical Center’s ranking within the top 10% of hospitals in the following specialties:

  • Cancer
  • Gastroenterology & GI Surgery
  • Geriatrics
  • Pulmonology

Scores are based on data that includes survival, patient safety, nurse staffing and other factors.

U.S. News & World Report rates the performance of hospitals, from high performing to below average, in many common procedures and conditions to help consumers find good sources of local care. We received hospital ratings of high performing in 8 adult Procedures/Conditions:

  • Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair
  • Aortic Valve Surgery
  • Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder (COPD)
  • Colon Cancer Surgery
  • Heart Bypass Surgery
  • Heart Failure
