Wound Care at The Queen’s Medical Center

The Queen’s Medical Center Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center utilizes the latest techniques and procedures to heal wounds, prevent lower limb loss and optimize outcomes for patients. We offer our services in three additional locations, at The Queen’s Medical Center – West Oahu, North Hawaii Community Hospital, and Molokai General Hospital.

About Us

The Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center at The Queen’s Medical Center offers specialized treatment for chronic, non-healing wounds. We maximize the healing process, using proven methods and advanced technologies. Queen’s is also the only open network and comprehensive center in the Pacific, offering services which are available to all patients and referring physicians. 

The Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center team includes board-certified physicians, specially trained nurses, and other staff specially trained in wound care. Our nurses also serve as case managers, providing continuity of care to benefit our referring physicians and their patients. We incorporate an interdisciplinary approach to wound care, collaborating with interventional cardiology, orthopedics, radiology, and vascular surgery to provide a full spectrum of care. The team also educates patients, families and caregivers on how to provide wound care at home, as well as improve the patient’s overall health with proper nutrition and exercise.

Our Services

Patients of the Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center are evaluated to determine underlying conditions that might inhibit the natural healing process. Our multidisciplinary providers plan individualized treatments for our patients which maximize healing using proven methods and advanced technologies for wounds that are difficult to heal.

Patients also have direct access to hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy involves breathing pure oxygen in a pressurized tube.  Indications at QMC Punchbowl to dive include:
