Queen’s QUICK 20

Queen’s QUICK 20 is a meal replacement non-surgical weight loss program designed to help you lose 10 to 20 pounds (or about 10% of your body weight) quickly and safely.

With Queen’s QUICK 20, you can enjoy a healthy meal of your choosing each day. For the rest of your meals, you eat one of the delicious options in our meal replacement program.

For weight loss without surgery, QUICK 20 places your body in a state of ketosis, which maximizes your ability to burn fat while minimizing hunger.

Medical screening and bi-weekly monitoring help ensure that you stay on track and motivated.

Nestlé Optifast Program

We also offer Nestlé’s Optifast Program as meal replacement for weight loss.

Optifast is a medically supported weight management program that empowers patients to transition from meal replacement food products (such as milk shakes, energy bars, desserts, and soups) to their own individualized meal plans.

Similar to Queen’s QUICK 20, patients in Nestlé’s Optifast meal replacement program will receive regular medical screenings and monitoring to ensure success.

Nutritional Education and Counseling

Weight Loss Medication

Among weight loss procedures without surgery, Queen’s non-surgical weight loss program considers medication an option for the right candidates.

Several emerging pharmaceutical treatments have been approved for treating obesity. These drugs can facilitate weight loss of up to 10% over the course of a year.

While they often are not covered by health plans and can be expensive, when used wisely, these newer medications can be an optional support tool that works best when combined with a robust program of support.

Weight loss drugs are only considered after a thorough evaluation of the medical and psychological health conditions affecting your weight loss. They are used in conjunction with a well-rounded treatment regimen.

Although nothing is a substitute for nutrition management and lifestyle, some patients truly benefit from the extra restraint that medications provide.

Frequently Asked Questions about Weight Loss without Surgery

You might ask yourself: why would I see a doctor for non-surgical weight loss? Can’t I just start eating right and exercising?

While it’s certainly possible to lose weight on your own, individuals who have a robust support network are more likely to lose weight and keep it off.

Here are other important things to consider:

Non-surgical weight loss programs go hand-in-hand with the treatment of other medical conditions such as:

Your primary care physician may refer you to a weight-loss specialist if you suffer from the conditions listed above or other medical conditions. Or you may choose to reach out to the Queen’s weight management team on your own.

Candidates for our non-surgical medical weight loss programs must have a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or more.

As a general rule, those with a BMI greater than 40 qualify and would likely benefit from surgical weight loss. If you have significant comorbidities, surgical weight loss is recommended for those with a BMI of 35 or higher.

From a medical perspective, a person is overweight if their BMI falls within the 25-30 range. (Remember that you need to have a BMI of at least 30 with qualifying comorbidities for Queen’s non-surgical weight loss program.)

If you have a BMI of over 30, you’re considered obese. Rather than using terms such as morbid obesity, the CDC considers classes of obesity:

  • 30-35 BMI: Class 1 Obesity
  • 35-40 BMI: Class 2 Obesity
  • 40+: Class 3 Obesity

While it can be challenging to lose weight if you have a BMI above 40 through non-surgical measures, it’s certainly possible. Our team is here to help you decide which option is best for you.

If you have a comorbid condition such as Type 2 Diabetes then surgical measures to treat your weight may be justified with a BMI as low as 30.

Surgery requires time for recovery. While those receiving surgical weight loss do not generally spend a lot of time recovering (patients may only be in the hospital for a day), non-surgical weight loss means zero recovery time and no hospital stay.

At the same time, the weight you will lose from surgical intervention will typically be much more dramatic in much less time than non-surgical procedures and methods.

Compared to non-surgical weight management strategies, bariatric surgery leads to greater body weight loss and a higher remission of Type 2 diabetes.

Whether surgical or non-surgical intervention makes sense depends on you as the patient, your medical history, current health, and any other medical conditions you may have.
