Lung Cancer Screening at The Queen's Medical Center

Find Out if You Are Eligible for Low-Dose CT

It is estimated that more than 158,000 people in the U.S. will die from lung cancer this year, according to the American Cancer Society. Low-dose CT lung cancer screening may be eligible for coverage to men and women who:

  • Are 55 – 74 years old
  • Have a tobacco smoking history of more than or equal to 30 pack-years (one pack year equals smoking one pack per day for one year)
  • Are current smokers or former smokers who have quit within the last 15 years

Low-dose lung cancer screening is painless and fast, and covered by most insurance plans. A recent study revealed that CT lung cancer screening by long-term, heavy smokers resulted in a 20% lower risk of death from cancer.
