Cancer Survivorship

Nationally Recognized Cancer Survivorship Program

The Queen’s Cancer Center is home to the first adult, hospital-based survivorship program in Hawaii. We believe that our patients’ journeys continue after treatment ends. Our caring and knowledgeable staff will help navigate their transition from treatment to follow-up care with the goal to improve quality of life.

Our nationally recognized program focuses on two aspects of care:

Management

  • Offers services that address the unique needs of cancer survivors in the years following treatment
  • Provides and reviews national guidelines for follow-up care
  • Provides a survivorship care plan and treatment summary
  • Offers education about managing side effects and promoting healthy activities, such as nutrition, exercise and smoking cessation
  • Assesses and assists with meeting psychological, emotional, social and economic concerns

Surveillance

  • Monitors any late effects of cancer diagnosis and treatment received
  • Empowers patients about the importance of follow-up care
  • Works closely with patients and their doctors to provide the best care following treatment
